Students have a choice of enrolling onto a number of study courses at Darul Uloom. Each course can be completed individually (subject to fulfilment of the entry requirements), though completion of all would enable one to become a fully-fledged scholar of Deen.
The Hifdh course enables students to complete the memorisation of the Qur'an. Students progress at different rates in line with devotion to their studies and ability. Those who devote the required commitment can complete memorisation of the Qur'an over a period of two years. Significant emphasis is placed on Tajwīd and dohr (revision). Upon memorization of the Holy Qur'an, students are awarded a prestigious certificate of "Hafidh of the Qur'an". This accredits and enables students to teach the Qur'an and lead congregational Tarawih prayers.
Our 1 year Urdu course aims to enable students to be able to understand, read, write, and speak the Urdu language over a one year period. Students, even those without any previous exposure to Urdu, should be able to obtain a good Urdu GCSE grade by the end of the course, as well as gaining significant exposure to the literature of many of our pious predecessors from the Indian subcontinent. Additional aspects taught in this year are an introduction to Islamic jurisprudence, a brief study of Islamic History and the Sirah of the Prophet.
Our 1 year Arabic course aims to enable students to be able to understand, read, write, and speak the language of the Qur'an over a one year period. Although the majority of the Arabic taught will be classical Arabic, students should be able to obtain a good Arabic GCSE grade by the end of the course, as well as Arabic Grammar and Morphology. Additional aspects taught in this year are Tajwīd, Urdu A-level and an introduction to fiqh in the Arabic language.
This course enables students to gain a grounding in Islamic Studies. Students are introduced to the study of Hadith and the translation of the Qur'an with basic commentary. There is further study of Arabic grammar, further study of reading and understanding Arabic at a higher level (culminating in an Arabic A-level), and further study of Jurisprudence and of the four madhabs. Students will be awarded an Islamic Studies Diploma at the end of the course.
This course is a BA level course covering Islamic sciences such as; Aqīdah (Islamic Belief), Tajwīd (Quranic Pronunciation), Fiqh (Islamic Law), Tafsīr (Quranic Commentary), Usūl al-Fiqh (Principles of Islamic Law), Usūl al-Hadīth (Principles of Hadith Sciences), and Hadīth (Prophetic Traditions).
Our Dawrah Hadith course is an MA level intensive study of the 6 major collections of Hadith. Students will have the opportunity to study the Sahih of Imam Bukhari under our Shaikh ul-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Fazlehaq Wadee Sahib, as well as other lecturers with numerous years of experience teaching Hadith.
